Crab Island is a large submerged sandbar north of the Destin Bridge. You do not drive there, park and walk onto land. You reach a marina, board appropriate watercraft, travel to the sandbar, and anchor or arrive according to the excursion plan.
Water depth, tide, current, wind, boat traffic and weather all shape the experience. This is an active boating environment rather than a controlled swimming pool.
The short apparent distance on a map is misleading. Strong current and boat traffic make swimming to Crab Island unsafe.

Solve land transportation only after choosing the boat. Your reservation may place you at HarborWalk, elsewhere in Destin, or farther west.
Driving
Check live navigation from 1002 US-98 to the exact check-in address and build margin around the required arrival time. Boat departure times are less flexible than a normal restaurant outing.
Parking
Follow operator-specific instructions. Parking location, fees, validation and walking distance can differ even within the same harbor district. Do not rely on an old map or review.
